BAR MITZVAH CLUB
The Bar Mitzvah Discovery program meets every Sunday morning from 9:45-10:55am. The class is for boys who are celebrating their Bar Mitzvah this year. It is designed to give them a greater appreciation of what a Bar Mitzvah is all about and why it so important. It is not a Hebrew School and we do not teach Jewish holidays or Hebrew reading. Nor do we provide tutoring for the Torah portion during this time.* Our classes are discussion-based and we focus specifically on the meanings and traditions of the Bar Mitzvah and its relevance in today’s modern world.
We also instruct the boys on how to put on Tefillin and explain the structure of the Service, when the Torah comes out, what the meaning is of an Aliyah, TaNach etc. They learn how the Bar Mitzvah connects them to an unbroken chain of Jewish history that stretches all the way back to Abraham, Moses etc. Perhaps most important of all, they will be interacting within a group who are all reaching their special day soon, and as such will have the opportunity to learn from each others’ thoughts.

Join with other girls your age for loads of laughs, good times, and interactive learning. Discuss what it means to be a proud Jewish girl in todays world and what the woman's role is in Judaism.
